Word of the Week
liaison (adjective)
Meaning – communication or cooperation between two parties which works well
Example of using it in a sentence: “The teacher works in close liaison with both the parents and the learner.”
Spelling Tip – the origin of the word helps us to understand the ‘closeness’ the word hopes to explain as it come 17thcentury cookery French meaning to bind together. However, it does not help us with the spelling. So, we are just going to have to learn it by muscle memory just as the cooks had to bind the ingredients together with our electrical mixers.
li + ai + son
