Word of the Week

environment

Meaning: the surroundings or conditions in which a person, animal or plant lives and survives.

Example of using it in a sentence “Here at Orchard Training we like to foster a good learning environment."

The root word comes from France and the late 16th century, and refers to a circuit or the surrounding area, an enclosure or the circumstances around an event.

Spelling tip: we are going to break the work in to the four sounds we can hear:

                                                               en + vi + ron + ment

Use the word as many times throughout the week. This can be verbally, in your written work or listen out for other people using it.
