Word of the Week

efficient

Meaning: someone or something working at maximum productivity with minimum waste of effort or resources.

Example of using it in a sentence “In the Orchard Training Cookery Club, we learn how to efficiently make meals for all the family."

The root word comes from the Latin meaning doing something well.

Spelling tip: we are going to help ourselves by breaking up the word like this, and say it like this as we spell it: “eeee, fffff-fish, eye, see, eye, ent.” We need to remember this is in the ent and not an ant family of words so say the “Ent” with meaning.

                                                               e + ff + i + c + i + ent

Use the word as many times throughout the week. This can be verbally, in your written work or listen out for other people using it.
