The Home School Advent Calendar - 15th December

Today marks the third Sunday of Advent, emphasizing joy. Joy is a profound and genuine happiness grounded in faith and trust.
In churches, the Shepherd Candle is lit to remind the congregation of the joy the shepherds felt upon hearing from the angels about the impending birth of Jesus.
This Sunday is closest to the year's shortest day (December 21st), and many of us sense the extended nights and brief daylight hours, necessitating some joy. Singing is a great way to achieve this! Scientific evidence increasingly shows that singing releases endorphins, serotonin, and dopamine—the chemicals that enhance our mood and make us feel good. So, sing your heart out today! What you choose to sing is up to you, but since it is Advent Sunday, you might consider visiting your local place of worship to sing some Christmas carols, although it's not mandatory.
