Weekly Maths Problem

Don’t forget to write out the problem at the top of the page, date the work and show all your workings out (even the wrong answers) and then file the evidence in your folder! This is a multi-step problem – you are estimating the answer. Think about all the steps you need to do to find the answer.

Karen bought 6 diaries and pens for her and her study buddy group in the sale. The diaries cost £9 apiece and the pens cost £1 apiece. If Karen spent exactly £30, how many diaries and pens did she buy?
