Weekly Maths Problem

Don’t forget to write out the problem at the top of the page, date the work and show all your workings out (even the wrong answers) and then file the evidence in your folder! This is a multi-step problem. Think about all the steps you need to do to find the answer.

An artist needs a piece of gold to finish his piece. He finds a rectangle of Artist’s Gold Leaf in his art supplies. The rectangle's length and width are in a ratio of 3:1. The area is 243 square millimetres. What are the length and width?

You can share your answers here in the forum on the website or with me as I visit during the week. Remember you need to show your workings out to get the maximum points.
