Weekly Maths Problem

There was a book festival Celebrating International Author Day, John went and he waited 30 minutes in the queue to get in, he spent 10 minutes each with of the 8 international authors getting autographs and selfies. He went to a talk given by one of them which lasted 45 minutes. He stood in the queue for 25 minutes to get his latest book signed and then spent 2 hours browsing the main exhibition. It took him 10 minutes to walk back to the car. How long was John at the festival?
