Word of the Week

February (noun)

Meaning – the second month of the year, in the northern hemisphere usually considered the last of month of winter.

Example of using it in a sentence "This park is busy even in February.”

Usage – February is spelt with an ‘r’ following the ‘feb’. Some people insist that the ‘r’ is pronounced. However, it not easy to do and so the sound we make becomes Feb –you- ary

Spelling Tip – although we may not pronounce the ‘r’ it is there.

Say the sentence “R U in the middle of the Feb - ary?” – Are you in the middle of February?

Feb + r + u + ary

Use the word as many times throughout the week as you can. This can be verbally, in your written work or listen out for other people using it.
