hindrance
Meaning: when somebody or something is interfered with, held back or slowed down from doing something
Example of using it in a sentence “When the snow falls it is a hindrance getting off my hill."
Spelling tip: we are breaking the word up like this just as we say it. We need to remember that it is in the “ance” family and not “ence” family.
h + in + dr + ance
Use the word as many times throughout the week. This can be verbally, in your written work or listen out for other people using it.
