Word of the Week
guarantee
Meaning: a formal (written) reassurance that certain things will happen
Example of using it in a sentence “You normally will get a 2-year guarantee in these products which states they will be repaired or replaced if they don’t work as they should. "
This word has multiple origins – anywhere business happens there appears to be a guarantee, this then means we end up with that unsounded ‘u’ as the second letter. Write it out a number of times so you learn the shape of the word and don’t forget that word.
Spelling tip: we are breaking the word up like this just as we say it.
g + u + a + ran + tee
Use the word as many times throughout the week. This can be verbally, in your written work or listen out for other people using it.
