Restaurant (noun)

Meaning –a place where people pay to sit and eat meals that are cooked and served on the premises.

Example of using it in a sentence: "We are going to a restaurant to celebrate Father’s Day.”

Synonyms: eating place, eatery, bistro

Spelling Tip – this was in relatively easy to spell but frequently spelt wrong. It is the ‘er’ sound in the middle made by the ‘au’ that catches people out. So when spelling this word emphasise the ‘au’ in the middle.
