vicious (adjective)


Meaning – deliberately cruel or violent.


Example of using it in a sentence: "Did you hear about that vicious assault on that young man, last night


Similar in meaning: brutal, ferocious, savage, violent, dangerous - but not quite because vicious has the intent behind it - the immoral intent to do some harm.


Spelling Tip – the route is connected to ‘vice’ meaning bad and the suffix is part of the ‘ious’ family meaning that the is the general sense of possessing or full of. The person is full of bad intent to do harm.
