Week 6 of Bike Training – Update

The aim for this week was 30 miles plus. However, the weather has been against us. Those of us training outside have found it very tricky. Those in the gym are finding the training for different reasons. Some of us are finding the music in the gyms two loud and intrusive to cope with it for more than 2 hours. Others are setting off too quickly and running out of steam just past the 20-mile marker. Pacing is something we will need to learn but it is proving quite hard to do on stationary bikes. Last year, when we were out on the cycle paths we cycled as a group and stopped for those that needed a break. In the gym this year, we are cycling side by side but some of us covering much more ground than others.
