November is for our Design and Technology Month
We have had a busy November with woodwork, metal work, sewing and gingerbread houses.
We started with woodwork, making a pyrography design on a slice of tree. I had an old tree in the garden and some of the boys from the garden club cut it down. Another of our learners used his dad's tools to slice up the branches in to rings and we left them in my shed over the summer to dry.
For the metal work we used tin cans to punch wholes in to the can and shone a light thought to make a light design on walls and ceiling.
Using soft metal we made christmas designs.
We were very lucky, as a lot of fabric has been donated to us to use for sowing different projects. Here are just a few of the fabric bubbles we made.
Finally, we made gingerbread houses. Well most of us did! Unfortunately, my oven died after the first 13 houses. The man came but was not able to get it going again this weekend. Hopefully, it will be done by christmas otherwise we will be cooking dinner with the slow cooker.
The gingerbread houses can be found in their own gallery. Use the drop down menu and find them. you can vote for the ones you like the best by clicking in the heart on the left hand bottom corner.
