Spelling Tip – however you use this word your saying that your keeping something away for the complete whole. So with this in mind I going to share a way to remember how to spell this word, shared with me by a lovely 8-year-old I knew about 20 years ago. Say “you need to ‘sep’ ‘a’ ‘rat’ from ‘e’ because you don’t want a rat in there.” This way you avoid the misspelling of sep ‘er’ rate.
Sep + a + rat + e
Use the word as many times throughout the week as you can. This can be verbally, in your written work or listen out for other people using it.
