erroneous (adjective)

Meaning – wrong or incorrect.

Example of using it in a sentence: “The government has made some erroneous guesses about the way the general public will judge their handling of the virus, over the last few months.”

Spelling Tip – the Latin root word ‘err’ means to ‘stray of course’. In other words, to move away from the truth. In the middle, we have the word ‘one’. The suffix ‘ous” means ‘full of’.

When we put those 3 together and we get “one full of error.”

err + one + ous
