minutes (noun)


Meaning – a period of time equal to sixty seconds or a sixtieth of an hour


Example of using it in a sentence: “Our lessons are 60 minutes long.


Spelling Tip – The route word comes from the Latin ‘to be made small’ as in “that is a very minute animal I see under the microscope.” The day has been made very small by being broken up in to small parts called minutes. Here we break the word down in to it smallest parts.
