audience (noun)


Meaning – able to be heard.


Example of using it in a sentence: "This is one of our Greek and Latin words – ‘aud’ meaning to hear and ‘ence’ meaningin the act of doing the root word. Therefore, the audience is actively listening to the performance.


Spelling Tip – the tricky bit is to remember the ‘i’ that joins the two parts in the middle. So, say ‘I’ am in the middle of listening to the show.

Use the word as many times throughout the week as you can. This can be verbally, in your written work or listen out for other people using it.
