Geography Week 1 - Home Towns

This is our first week of Geography and as we have been training around the tow paths and cycling paths of Addlestone, New Haw, Weybridge, Walton, Shepperton, Laleham, Staines, Thorpe and Chertsey for our charity bike ride in August. So, this week’s geography this week will be about our local towns. Make a pamphlet for the local tourist board, inviting guest to visit your town. You can use either Word, Publisher or make it by hand if you don’t have access to technology.

You need to research the best places to visit in your town, the places of interest, visitors will need to know what they can do and see, where they could eat, park, worship, shop etc. Think about the age group you are promoting your town to: if you are aiming for teenagers find all the things teenagers would like to do. If you are aiming at families include family things. I have made a start on my home town Chertsey.
