Weekly Maths Problem

For a DT project Nicola measured a doll’s house and made a scale drawing (a drawing showing the room form above). She used the scale 1 millimetre: 1 centimetres.

If the dining room is 20 millimetres in the drawing, how long is the actual doll’s house dining room? The room is a quadrilateral and Nicola has label each side in alphabetical order.

On the first side, there is a 6mm window with its centre at 12mm along the wall.

On the second wall, there is a 120mm fireplace in the centre of the wall.

On the third wall, there is a 10mm door 40mms from the corner of the room.

Draw that room to scale including the features listed.
