equipped (verb)

Meaning – having got together all the necessary items for a particular purpose.

Example of using it in a sentence: “By having a quite, comfortable place to work, having pen, paper, calculator and reading book to hand, laptop charged up and a willing attitude makes me equipped to learn.”

Spelling Tip – In English, we never use a ‘q’ without a ‘u’, I never teach handwriting or the alphabet without pointing that out and I will always teach you that ‘qu’ is just one unit. All-be-it a complex one to write with all the changes of direction. Which makes the ending of “equip” a cvc word because the ‘qu’ is counted as a consonant. When we add suffixes like ‘ed’ to cvc words - the rule is - we double the last letter, “equip + p + ed.”
