Meaning – sly or cunning in intelligence.
Example of using it in a sentence: “we often refer to some body is cunning as a fox when we see behaviour full of guile.”
Spelling Tip – The root word comes from the Vikings meaning ‘wile’ meaning devious or cunning, so only the spelling has changed the ‘w’ for the ‘gu’ via the old French. Not sure about the second sound: it is a magic e spelling with the ‘e’ making the ‘i’ same its name.
