desperate (adjective)
Meaning – a feeling of or showing a hopeless sense that a situation is so bad as to be impossible to deal with alone.
Example of using it in a sentence: “The recent floods left the community desperate for help.”
It can also mean: - having a great need or desire for something
Example of using it in a sentence: “It is very cold outside, I am in desperate need of a hot chocolate.”
