Word of the Week

relevant (adjective)

Meaning –closely connected or appropriate to what is being done or considered.

Example of using it in a sentence: "revision is relevant to exam taking.”

Synonyms: pertinent, applicable, apposite, material

Spelling Tip – this looks like it should be a ‘re’ prefix word but apparently it is not. It comes from the Latin to mean “bringing the right information to”. We are going to spell it how it sounds and remember it is in the ‘ant’ family not the ‘ent’.

rel + e + v + ant

Use the word as many times throughout the week as you can. This can be verbally, in your written work or listen out for other people using it.
