Meaning – the state of the atmosphere at a particular place and time as regards heat, cloudiness, dryness, sunshine, wind rain etc.
Example of using it in a sentence: "If the weather is good – we will go for a walk by the sea.”
When used as a verb it means – wear away or change the appearance or texture of something by long exposure to the atmosphere.
Example of using it in a sentence: "His skin was weathered almost like dried leather by his outdoor life.”
It can also be used to describe the condition of something – “the barn door hung weathered by the sun.”
