Meaning – in most cases; usually.

Example of using it in a sentence: "Nicola generally posts Word of the Week on Wednesday, but has been a bit laps lately.”

Synonyms: normally, mainly and mostly

It can also mean – in general terms: without regard to particulars or exceptions

Example of using it in a sentence: Generally, Nicola is on top of her work and the things she needs to do.

Synonyms: altogether, broadly, principally, basically, substantially and effectively

Spelling Tip – The issue is with how we say the word and do we hear ‘er for ‘re’? it’s a bit down to your accent and where you live – to help yourself say: “Pirates generally go ‘er’!”
